In addition to staging international performances for audiences of all ages
Mervyn Heard has devised one-off performance-based projects for the stage, television, feature films and international festivals. Past clients include the Tate and Hayward Galleries the British Library, the Royal Opera House, the International Gothic Association, the Perth Festival the Cinemateca Portuguese, Lisbon and the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, Turin.
 
During the last two years he has also devised and hosted two series of public lectures on ‘optical magic’ and a symposium Old Media:New Work, at the University of Westminster. He has also worked with theatre companies and artists co-creating projection-performance sequences integrating  dancers, actors and musicians
 
He is the author of Phantasmagoria: The Secret Life of the Magic Lantern
